Say your BMR is 1500. You say, “Kewlioooo. I’m going to eat 1000 calories total, exercise, and lose all the weight.” NAH.
It doesn’t work that like. Say that you burn 500 calories during exercise & an extra 200 via miscellaneous activities. So, your TDEE is 2200 (1500+700). You need 2200 calories to maintain your weight. You’re eating 1000 though. So you’d be in a 1200 calorie deficit. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHno. That’s a bad idea. You want to end up being in a 300-500 calorie deficit of your TDEE. So, you’d want to aim for 1700-1900 calories. So yis, you’d be eating back some of your exercise calories…but let me tell you, things will work in your favor and your bod will love you even more than it already does.
